Advantage and Review Realme 6 Pro: Bring 6 Reliable Camera & 90Hz Pro Display

As technology advances, consumers can now experience a wide range of features or advanced technology on mobile phones at an increasingly affordable price. If the first two features are only available on flagship smartphones, it can now be enjoyed in mid-range or intermediate-ranges. It was what I felt when using Realme 6 Pro as a daily driver or main smartphone everyday.

Although not the flagship, a lot of improvements were brought from the previous generation, Realme XT. Yes, with the number of upgrades brought, Realme 6 Pro was not released replacing Realme 5 Pro, but rather a realme XT that had a higher class.

Carrying the slogan “6 Cameras, Pro Display”, experience as if using flagship products can be felt easily. Is this Realme 6 Pro worth considering as a top choice? Check out Realme 6 Pro review here.

If I can say, Realme 6 Pro is one of the best design phones I’ve seen in the year 2020. Indeed, if viewed from behind, this phone looks similar to Realme XT. What makes me amazed is the combination of colors used. Realme 6 Pro has a lightning design that changes its intensity following the light source. Compared to the darker blue (Lightning Blue) color and inspired by clouds, the Lightning Red color looks more lit, but at the same moment, not excessive considering the body is dominated by black color.

The rear body of Realme 6 Pro is made through the process of UV-curing offset printing technology, consisting of seven layers including Corning Gorilla Glass 5 as well as anti-fingerprint coating. Yes, although not using the doff surfaces like in the C3 or 5i Realme, the former fingerprints on the Realme 6 Pro body are quite vague or not very visible.

The front was also protected by Gorilla Glass 5, and for the first time carried the punch-hole technology as a front camera placement, or that Realme called “in-display selfie camera”. On the left side, there are two separate volume buttons with a non-hybrid card slot, supporting two SIM cards plus a microSD card at once. There is a microphone on the top and bottom of the phone, accompanied by a 3.5 mm audio jack, USB-C port and mono speaker.

Unlike the Realme XT, Realme 6 Pro embeds its fingerprint sensor into the power button on the right. Without the need to be pressed, the sensor is sufficiently reliable and very fast, it only takes 0.38 seconds. Practical placement, remembering a natural finger will reach the power button to turn on the phone screen. In addition to using fingerprints, the face unlock feature comes with an interesting punch-hole light effect each time the face detection process is performed.

This is one of the most interesting parts of Realme 6 Pro. Bringing features that were previously only available on the flagship, the Realme 6 Pro comes with a 90Hz Ultra Smooth Display screen, with a dimension of 6.6 inches with a resolution of FHD + and a brightness of up to 480 nits. The body-to-screen ratio reaches 90.6%, making the phone less large when held in one hand.

With a 90Hz refresh rate and a 120Hz touch sampling rate, all content displayed on the screen feels smoother when moved, such as access Twitter timelines, or simply browsing menus. You can disable this feature and stay at 60Hz to save battery, or use Auto mode as per the running application. There are two screen color modes to choose from; Vivid using P3 standard, and gentle for sRGB.

A bit unfortunate because Realme 6 Pro hasn’t used the Super AMOLED panel, so features like always-on display can’t be present. Nevertheless, the colour reproduction is very good and accurate.

Realme 6 Pro Camera

Not only five, the total camera on this smartphone there are six; Two in front and four in the back. Realme claimed Realme 6 Pro as “The Most Powerful 6-Camera Phone”, and it can be confirmed. The Dual in-display selfie camera in front has a different field of view (FoV). Its main sensor is 16MP F/2.0 (Sony IMX471), accompanied by an 8MP F/2.2 105 ° Ultra wide-angle sensor. That way, you can easily take a selfie group or simply show a wider photo background.

The features are also fully featured, such as AI Beauty, portrait mode and night mode. The front camera can record 1080p videos both 30fps and slow-mo 120fps, plus UIS Video Stabilization and Video Bokeh, suitable for nge-vlog.

Switching to the rear camera, Realme 6 Pro had a 64MP setup of AI Quad Camera with 20x Hybrid zoom and an ultra wide 119 °-angle lens. Yes, finally a telephoto lens is also derived from the flagship, making this phone camera more flexible.

Sequentially from the top, there is an 8MP ultra wide-angle F/2.3 119 ° Camera, the 64MP f/1.8 main camera uses a Samsung GW1 sensor of 1/1.7 inches, a 12MP f/2.5 telephoto camera and a 2MP macro camera with the closest focusing distance of 4cm.

The main camera by default produces 16MP-resolution photos, utilizing 4-in-1 pixel-binning technology for better image quality. The HDR feature can help to improve the dark part of the photo while Chroma Boost adds to the overall saturation of the photo. The night Mode “Nightscape 3.0” also comes with tripod mode and Ultra Nightscape, it can capture bright images even if the light source is less than 1 Lux.

Realme 6 Pro can record video with a maximum resolution of 4K 30fps. Similar to the features that exist for the front camera, on the rear camera, there is an additional stabilization mode, UIS Max that utilizes an ultra wide-angle lens. These modes are capable of providing maximum stability even without dreadlocks. But like the general EIS stabilization, the smooth vibration effect will be noticeable when the UIS feature is active in less light conditions.

Overall, the Realme 6 Pro camera arguably delivers the experience and similar qualities of Realme X2 Pro. The camera is reliable enough in a wide range of conditions, both abundant and lacking light. The difference is that when recording a video, the Realme 6 Pro cannot move from one camera sensor to another as in X2 Pro. The color accuracy of photos has also been improved, although skin tone still tends to be brighter than the original, although all AI Beauty features are turned off. Hopefully can be upgraded through software update.

Running an Android 10-based Realme UI, this realme approach would like to make the appearance of the operating system look like Android stock, although a myriad of customization features are still available. Users can change the shape of theme icons and others according to personal tastes. The dark Mode feature is also available, and it can even turn a third-party application that has not officially supported dark mode to dark, although it is still in beta stage.

The full screen gesture mode looks more like Android stock, and there is a OSIE Vision Effect boost that can improve the clarity of video display for supported applications, such as TikTok and MX Player. Not only visually, the audio sector is also reinforced with Dolby Atmos plus Hi-Res Audio certifications. Realme 6 Pro has also been made for waterproof, using a combination of glue, silicone gel as well as a foam-proof ring design on the earphone hole interface, USB, SIM card slot as well as other component connectors. Nevertheless, do not try to soak the phone into the water.

Realme 6 Pro became the world’s first smartphone to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 720G chipset. As the name suggests, this chipset has a CPU architecture that is not much different from the Snapdragon 730G, both made with 8nm fabrication. The octa-core architecture of the Snapdragon 720G consists of a Kryo 465 dual-Core Cortex-A76 CPU up to 2.3 GHz, and six Cortex-A55 cores up to 1.8 GHz for power efficiency.

Combined with 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage, using this phone feels smooth and clear, both when opening and switching applications. Playing online multiplayer games with intensive graphics can run without any problems.

Realme XT has a large enough battery capacity of 4000 mAh. While the Realme 6 Pro is slightly larger in 4300 mAh. With intensive use of my ALA, full day use with 90Hz screen mode, this phone can withstand a screen-on time of 5-6 hours. Even when often used as a mobile hotspot, it can still be more than 4 hours.

In addition to the economical battery, the taste also fast through 30W Flash Charge technology. The built-in Realme 6 Pro Charger runs on the 5V/6A current, making the phone fully charged in just about 60 minutes. Even 30 minutes of charging can already reach 70%. When you forget to bring your built-in charger, Realme 6 Pro also supports 15 watts of Power Delivery, so it can still charge quickly through other more common third-party chargers.

With rising new standards, Realme wants to make a 6-series Realme as the best flagship product for young people, and it is well accomplished. The stylish lightning design, dual in-display selfie camera and 64MP AI Quad Camera Certainly add value to this phone. As well as the 90Hz Ultra Smooth Display screen capable of delivering a new experience when browsing content, in a more affordable class.

The absence of features like NFC will probably be a deciding factor for users living in large cities and need to recharge their e-money cards for shopping or traveling. But other than that, the completeness of other features in Realme 6 Pro makes it worth considering for you who are looking for a mobile phone with a budget in its class.
