During the launch of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset last year, smartphone manufacturers tried to attract attention by using their latest flagship product. Like the ZTE Axon 30 Pro which is now launched with 200MP camera capability.
Ni Fei, president of ZTE talked about the upcoming ZTE Axon 30 Pro and its camera being the main quality of this smartphone. He confirmed that the upcoming smartphone will be able to take photos with a resolution of 200MP or more than 2.7 billion pixels.
The 200MP resolution camera is capable of capturing photos in dim light scenarios as dark as 0.1 lumens, and features 4K HDR video recording and 10-bit color support.
He also mentioned the use of spectra 580 and Snapdragon 888 image signal processor. This will be a significant change during the ZTE Axon 20, as the phone is powered by a mid-range Snapdragon 765G.
Other leaked issues also shed more light on camera sensors, but note that this information does not come directly from the company’s president, this is an issue issued by Weibo.
It is said to also have a diagonal size of 1/1.37 inches, allowing it to take 50MP images at 0.64μm with quad-pixel-binning and a 12.5MP image at 1.28μm with 16-in-1 pixel binning. It is unclear whether it will also be able to shoot at a full 200MP resolution, as that means switching to a pixel size of just 0.16μm, the smallest on any camera phone by a sufficient difference, leading to lower light sensitivity. The ZTE Axon 30 Pro is also likely to carry a selfie camera at the bottom of the screen. Now in the second iteration, it remains to be seen how good it is, since his inaugural effort was not very good. Regarding the need for high resolution cameras when some of the best camera phones continue to use 12MP sensors.
ZTE has not confirmed the launch date of the Axon 30 Pro, but we expect it in the coming months to come to market soon.
